Here is what our community leaders are saying about the Funway Park Project:

"I plan to submit as part of a future Capital Improvement Program budget a line item relating to the Stanley School playground to assist in its construction."

Jeannette A. McCarthy
Mayor of Waltham

“As former Mayor of Waltham for 14 years and the proud man after whom the Stanley School is named, I am honored to help this committee complete this project. I urge you to contribute to this endeavor."

William F. Stanley
former Mayor of Waltham

“As a State Representative and Waltham City Councilor-at-Large, I request your help with this project. I am proud that the school is named after my father. As the father of two sons myself, I know how important exercise is to children’s health. We need to provide opportunities for our students to engage in healthy activities and exercise.”

Tom Stanley
State Representative, 9th Middlesex District, Waltham City Councilor-at-Large

“As a Councilor At Large and a resident of the Stanley School District, I am pleased to help and support this fundraising effort. My daughter, Caroline, will be attending the school in a few years. She and her classmates will make full use of the playground. Please consider us as part of your community service mission.”

Patrick O’Brien
Waltham City Councilor-at-Large

“As the Ward 7 Councilor, which includes the Stanley School, I heartily support this project. The children will benefit in several ways from having a safe, state-of-the-art play structure. I encourage help from the business community in this endeavor. We cannot do it without you.”

Joe Giordano
Waltham Ward 7 City Councilor

“As a former member of the Waltham School Committee and Park and Recreation Board, I ask your help with our Stanley School playground project. The children need the opportunity to play cooperatively and exercise. The partnership with the local business community would be beneficial to both parties.”

Margaret Donnelly
Waltham School Committee Member 1994-2005, Waltham Park and Recreation Board Member 1996-2005, Waltham School Building Committee
