Announcements

• THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS ON THURSDAY, JUNE 25TH! School will resume on Wednesday, September 1st.
• Field Day was a HUGE success on Friday, June 12th.  Held inside for the first time due to heavy rain in the morning and a dismal prediction for the remainder of Friday and the rain date, the kids had a great time with all the events (bouncy house, giant slide, building structures with boxes, noodle hockey, egg relay and many, many more).  MANY THANKS TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS involved in setup, cleanup, and manning the individual stations during the day long event! Also, many thanks to the staff who did a great job of helping by giving up classrooms, figuring out what to do with about 20 minutes notice, and getting the kids through the day without mishap. Extra thanks must go to Kris Scheufele, Christine and Dave Power and Susan McKinney for their organizational skills that made Field Day possible with the numerous last minute changes required due to the inclement weather.  It is positively miraculous what 12 hours of planning can produce!
• CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of the Field Day Box Build Contest! This new event challenged the kids to construct cities out of 100 cardboard boxes in about 5 minutes. It required great imaginations and teamwork to build unique structures that impressed the judges.  In fact, the judges were so impressed, they decided to award two prizes, one to a K-2 class and one to a 3-5 class.  This year's winners are Mrs. Cummings' and Ms. Keith's classes.  They win a pizza party in their classroom during the last week of school! Look for the return of the Box Build station next year. It was a big hit!

• Box Tops, Staples receipts and ink jet cartridges can be sent in with your child or dropped off at the main office.
